Dear Dan,
It is not often that I write letters like this, but I think you deserve this one.
We have now stayed at Shenandoah Valley Inn on two separate occasions and could not be more pleased. My wife and I travel extensively and look for "special places" to stay.
Your inn is indeed a very special place. Your attention to every detail makes staying at your inn a
special time! You are a fine host!
We look forward to making your inn a yearly destination as we explore the many wonders of the Shenandoah Valley.
As you know I hail from the number one tourist destination in the world, Orlando Florida. Well I can tell you as one who knows, you have certainly embraced the fine art of welcoming guests in a very special way.
Keep up the good work and we will see you soon!
With warm personal regards,
George A. Rodon

I wanted to thank you so very much for being such a wonderful host to Jimmy and I... we absolutely loved your home and you have done a magnificent job in your decorating and making people feel so much at ease there and VERY PAMPERED! :) We have been to many B&B's and lovely ones too... but yours is the nicest and we so hope to come back at some point. The food was delicious and thank you so much for offering a glass of wine... THAT was a FIRST!!! Plus we loved just sitting in the library and visiting with YOU. -

"Exqusitely restored period gem, with every modern amenity"
I cannot understand why this fantastic place isn't already No.1 in Staunton. It's on the premier historic street, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Staunton and is itself a beautiful victorian house. Owner Dan Sager has refurbed the place perfectly. Tradition has been maintained but with a very chic, stylish modern edge. There is none of the twee chintz of so many US inns: think cool beiges and taupes, DVD players, aperitifs in the library, crystal, silver and damask in the breakfast room, a grand piano in the drawing room etc. Dan is very helpful, a charming host and organises great restaurant reservations. Really I cannot fault this place: go! Somehow the pictures on the website don't quite do it justice. -

This is an excellent B&B, where Dan Sager made my wife and myself very welcome, provided varied and enjoyable breakfasts, and offers a tasteful ambience with exceptional style and comfort. His garden is delightful (though the John Lewis suite doesn't have a view of it), and to enjoy his liqueurs and chocolates on return from a Staunton restaurant made a great conclusion to each day! -

As a first time user of a Bed and Breakfast, my wife and I had no first hand idea, experience, nor impression as to what to expect.
Having completed our visit with Mr. Dan Sager and The Shenandoah Valley Inn, my wife and I feel that this was an experience of a lifetime.
From the initial greeting throughout our entire stay, Dan responeded to every request ranging from recommendations to reservations, from senic ideas to available, restful relaxation in a Hot Tub overlooking the scenic valley and the beautiful backyard garden adorned with a pond and Oh! yes, fish.
The home was very representative of my Southern hertiage producing a warm, cozy, and satisfying air of comfort. Each room was extremely well decorated accenting the beauty of each. The beds were very comfortable supporting the need for relaxation. The baby grand piano added so much to my wife's pleasure and was a real treat for her. The reading room served as a fun place for us and our friends to relax, enjoy games or to enjoy an after dinner drink / a glass of Port.
And now I can talk about the Dinning Room (food is my thing), which was well arranged so as to allow for interaction among the guest. Dan and his staff were very conscious of our taste, our needs - never leaving a coffee cup empty, always tried to outdo the previous offering and ending each meal with a special dish of sweets.
Forget the driving, it was so nice for us to be able to visit many fine restaurants, many shops, an old 1800 era hardware now full of all kinds of gadgets, and a fabulous Shakespearean Theatre all with in walking distance of the B&B.
Hopefully, you, the reader, have grasped my direction - This was an excellent experience and one we would recommend to all.
Thanks Dan for all you did for us. -

My husband and I retuned to Louisiana Thursday from our yearly sojourn in Staunton, VA. Every year at the end of September, the Fortune-Williams Music Festival takes place for three days. During that time, we want a place where we can stay and be comfortable and feel like you are home without all of the hassle of being at home. We love to stay at Bed and Breakfasts; they are such a relaxing and welcoming place to stay. The people that you meet are usually very respectful of your privacy and you don't have the worry about a party going on in the room next to yours or a crying child. After our stay in Staunton, last year, we knew that we did not want to stay at the Bed and Breakfast we were staying in again. It just wasn't up to par with the others we have been to. We did some walking around town and really didn't find anything that we liked so when we returned home, my sister and I did some searching online to find a B&B that we would like and that is when we came upon the Shenandoah Valley Inn B&B/Staunton, VA. The description of the Inn and the pictures were wonderful, then again so were the pictures and description of the one we stayed in in 2007. We decided to book our reservations for 2008 and found out the Shenandoah Valley Inn B&B/Staunton, VA had not been open for long, maybe six months at that time of our reservations. Finally, the day came when we were able to see the Shenandoah Valley Inn B&B/Staunton, VA for ourselves.
We arrived to a beautiful southern style mansion built in 1906. The front lawn was manicured. There is a walk that leads you to the inviting portico with pillars on each side, a swing on the left and a very comfortable bench on the right. To us, it said, hey weary traveler you are home.
When you step inside, you receive a warm greeting by the owner and Innkeeper, Dan Sager and a beautiful calico cat named Claire. Dan is very happy to show you around this beautiful creation of his. He takes you to your suite and explains everything and even shows you here the directions are for the use of the TV, VCR, fireplace, and the clock radio. He lets you know the rules of the Shenandoah Valley Inn B&B/Staunton, VA. There aren't any that you shouldn't already know when going about your life on a daily basis.
When you first arrive and go through the front door, you will notice gleaming hardwood floors and the grand staircase that goes up to three guestrooms. To your left is the sitting room with the same gleaming hardwood floors. In this room you will find a baby grand piano, at the far end, just waiting for someone with talent to play. The sitting area is at the front of the room with a sofa and two beautiful chairs. The color scheme the owner chose is beautiful and very relaxing. Greens and golds....
